 The AEN palm oil mill was commissioned in 2007, in a 4 Hect land in Mohameddi Estate in the Kalutara District belonging to Agalawatte Plantations PLC, using Malaysian technology. Malaysia is one of the world's largest producers of palm oil.

The Indonesian unit of Unilever , the world's top palm oil buyer, on Wednesday said it gets 65 percent of its palm oil from Indonesia despite halting purchases from a unit of market leader Sinar Mas Group.

Cargill denies Palm estates destroying Asian rainforests PDF Print E-mail

Agribusiness giant Cargill [CARG.UL] on Thursday dismissed claims by a green group that the firm's estates expanded at the expense of rainforests and peatlands on Borneo island.

Cargill said it wanted to "set the record straight on the false allegations" by Rainforest Action Network (RAN), which published a report this week looking at how the U.S. firm was operating its oil palm estates on the Indonesian side of the island.
